The clocks have gone back, the days are getting colder and the Starbucks Christmas coffee cups are out in full force, so I wanted to do a new post on how to layer in Autumn/Winter to keep you toasty. Plus there’s some accessories in this post which I think would make perfect gifts for Christmas so are there to give you some inspiration if, unlike me, you are an organised Christmas present shopper and are currently looking for gifts for your friends and family! I also met up with my special little helper Kylo who has definitely added a next level cuteness to these photo’s, so I hope you enjoy looking at his adorable face!…
First up I want to talk about this amazing scarf from Jack Wills, that I’ve actually got as an early Christmas present. At the moment, whilst it’s not completely arctic, I’m still enjoying layering knits with thinner jackets, like this denim one, and so by adding a cosy scarf it still means I still keep warm! It’s so big, warm and cosy and perfect for wrapping yourself (or a super cute dog) in. This scarf would also make a great gifting item for Christmas, see here. Jack Will’s also has loads of other cute gifts on their website here if this scarf doesn’t take your fancy and also have the option to purchase gift vouchers online.
Next up is the beret. If you’ve read my post ‘It’s all about the beret’ then you’ll know that I already have a black beret and was actually unsure if it suited me at first! But I’ve now been fully converted into a beret lover and so decided to get myself this nude coloured one from Urban Outfitters to add to my collection. It’s also really warm so is perfect to keep you warm at this time of year and going into Winter. I think this would also make a cute present for Christmas and can be shopped on their website here.
The next item is something that I have already got so much use out but wouldn’t have necessarily bought for myself due to the price, so I feel like it would make the perfect gift for Christmas…the Fjallraven backpack. My boyfriend bought this one for me for my birthday and I love it. It makes the perfect everyday bag, work bag, uni bag or camera bag for when I’m out taking outfit pics. I opted for this all black option as it’s practical, stylish and goes with any outfit! You can shop it on the Fjallraven website here.
I’ve also gone for a double denim combo for this outfit! Some people think this is a major fashion no-go but I’m all for it! I think the red scarf and black jumper breaks it up as well so it works. The jumper is another Primark bargain at £6 and is a great layering item.
Finally, I don’t know about you but generally socks are the kind of present you often get for Christmas and like (don’t get me wrong, I love a pair of fluffy socks) but aren’t necessarily excited about. But these Calvin Klein socks are the perfect present that you’ll definitely be happy to receive. I was torn whether to go for the grey or white but decided to go with the slightly more subtle grey ones. Team them with rolled up jeans and vans (excuse how wrecked mine are, I need a new pair!) for an effortless, not too ‘try hard’ look. These can be bought in black, white or grey from the Urban Outfitters website here.
