Last weekend I went to the most beautiful winter wedding, (Andy and Lex if you’re reading this a major congrats again!) in Llangollen in Wales. Big country hall, yurts, stream, swing bench, little cottage, large open plan space-you name it, this venue had it all! So it would’ve been rude of course not to have made use of the beautiful surroundings for a winter wedding outfit post, right?!
Now, the main focal point in any wedding outfit is the dress so I wanted something which was both elegant and classy but still flattering! When shopping for occasion dresses, suitable for a wedding in spring/summer, there always seem to be a ridiculously large selection (even just on ASOS alone!), but when it get’s into the winter it seems a bit harder to find an appropriate dress which isn’t sparkly, velvet or covered in sequins. Therefore, I feel like Lipsy is always a safe go-to bet for these type of occasion dresses! They always have a gorgeous range of dresses which feel a bit more special and good quality than your standard retail store. I think my favourite things about this dress are the colour, and lace detail on the back. It can be bought on the Lipsy website here.
To go with this lovely dress I wanted a jacket or coat that would keep me really snug and warm whilst still looking glam! I didn’t have much money to spend so waited last minute until the Black Friday sales were on and picked up this bargain coat from New Look. You can shop this coat online here, although FYI I’m not 100% sure the ‘grey’ colour online is the same as the one I bought, as the one in this outfit has a more purple tone, but there’s a few different colours you can chose from! Anyways, this coat was an actual life saver as it was pretty cold on the day so I was so thankful I’d bought this cosy coat! Also, I’m so glad I chose this coat as the tendency for weddings is to wear something once and never again, but I can tell I’ll get a lot of use out of this coat for drinks, dinners and everyday wear etc!
Next up is this super cute bag, also from New Look. I’d already previously bought a bag for this occasion but when I saw this really cute pastel pink bag, detailed with a jewelled brooch, I knew I just had to have this one instead! I really liked it as it could be held both by the little handle and the strap making it really versatile. I’m not really a massive fan of clutch bags as they’re pretty awkward to hold so I’ll aways favour a bag with a strap! It can be shopped on their website, here.
Finally, for this occasion I found some bargain velvet pink heels in the Primark sale for £6 (what’s not to love ey!). They had a pretty chunky heel which meant they were really comfy which is always a plus in my eyes! I feel like they pulled the outfit together by adding another texture through the velvet, in addition to the fur of the jacket and lace of the dress, which I feel worked really well.
And that’s it! I hope you’ve enjoyed my winter wedding post and have perhaps gained some inspo for if you’re going to any weddings or occasions over the next few months. Overall, I loved this outfit and enjoyed dressing up and being a bit more girly- It’s nice to feel a bit more glam than my day to day trainers and jeans look!
Also, if you want to check out the wedding venue’s official site, see here for more details. It is honestly the most beautiful and perfect place!
Until next time,
