The city of Bath is beautiful, there’s no debating it. As my boyfriend lives down there I’m lucky enough to get to visit quite a bit, although I definitely need to visit more and make the most of it whilst he’s there! Bath is famously known for its Christmas Market so it was a no brainer to go and visit it this winter! I’ve also included some outfit pics in this post which were taken at the stunning Bath Crescent, I hope you guys enjoy…
The market was spread out all throughout the city centre with the central point focussed around the stunning Abbey. There was an abundance of little craft stalls with cute present ideas for Christmas and more importantly there was lots.of.food. I think I was more occupied by all the amazing food stalls than anything else. In the end, we went for pie and mash and sat in this inside tent area which had a live musician playing which was lovely. We also had a trip to the lodge, where I had my first mulled wine of the year which tasted delicious! In the past I’ve never been that big into Christmas markets (bit of a scrooge I know) but I definitely think I’ve been missing out and I definitely think this trip has finally got me in the mood for Christmas! Overall, It was a really nice day out and as we went on Friday daytime it wasn’t as crazy busy as I can imagine it was on Saturday and Sunday! I’ll definitely be making another visit next year…
Unfortunately for anyone reading this that wants to go still, this weekend was the last weekend it was running, which surprised me as I thought it would run until the end of December! But nonetheless, I thought I’d share a few of my pics and experience so you can add it do your to do list for next Christmas, it’s a definite must! What other Christmas markets have you been to that you liked? I’d love to hear some suggestions!
So, onto the most important part (obviously), what did I wear on the day?…
It is so cold at the moment, like so cold! As I knew that the market was outside I picked an outfit which I knew would keep me toasty as I tend to get pretty miserable when I get cold, which isn’t fun for me or anyone I’m with! I opted for my Urban Outfitters Puffer jacket, (last year’s version) as I wanted a casual look. I’ve said to before in my outfit post ‘Return of the Puffer Jacket’ but I really have got so much wear out of this jacket and would definitely recommend UO’s version this year to anyone, see here to shop similar.
Next is probably the focal point and also the only new item of this outfit. My boyfriend says it kind of makes me look like a football hooligan but I just ignored him because I love it. Plus, I was going for more of a retro alpine ski lodge vibe anyway! Again this is from my favourite shop, Urban Outfitters, and I love the fit and material of it. It’s a really nice mid weight layer, not as thick and hot as a heavy knit jumper but warmer than sticking to just a t-shirt. So for this occasion it was perfect to have underneath my puffer jacket to keep me nice and cosy. You can shop it on their website here.
I’m actually yet to buy a new pom beanie hat this year so if any of you guys have any recommendations I’d love to hear them! So for now, I’ve been wearing a cream pom beanie which I picked up a couple of years ago in Topshop. I love how the pom pom is pretty oversized (it’s probably also exentuated by my little pea head) and how the colour pretty much goes with everything I own! After having a browse of their website I’ve found a couple which are similar if you’re liking this look- They’re labelled as the ‘Faux Fur Pom Beanie Hat’ and the ‘Zig Zag Beanie Hat’
Finally for this outfit I wore my favourite Mom jeans from Zara, My Fjallraven rucksack and my new Reebok trainers. All these items have featured in previous posts such as: ‘Keeping It Casual’, ‘The Fur vs Faux Fur debate‘ and ‘A/W Layering’ if you fancy checking any of these out! And I’ll of course link these at the bottom of the post as usual.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Bath Christmas Market post and have gained some style Inspo for how to keep cosy and casual for any Christmas Market’s you might be visiting soon!
Until Next time,
