Hey you lovely people! I’ve had over a month off from blogging and it’s finally time to get back into the swing of things. It’s actually surprised me just how much I’ve missed writing and I can’t wait to share all of the fab content I’ve got planned. For my first post back I just thought I’d do a little life update as I’ve had a ridiculously busy month so just thought I’d let you all know what I’ve been up to and what’s happening over the next few weeks!

So first up…I’ve finally finished university!! In my post ‘Why dropping out of university was the best decision I ever made’ I explained how I’d originally gone to uni to study Psychology (but dropped out) and pairing that with the fact that I also did a placement year meant that my whole university journey has been a solid 5 years long. It’s taken an awful lot of self motivation and determination to finish, but it’s finally done. I had my dissertation hand in this week and I cannot explain the feeling! I’m not sure if anyone else felt like this, but it almost seems a bit surreal- as in one minute you’re stressed up to your eyeballs not being able to see an end to it all and then the next you’ve handed in your last deadline and it’s all over- it’s like the biggest anti climax going. Plus you know that horrible guilty feeling you have when you know you should be doing uni work? well now it’s gone…and I don’t really know what to do with myself!

…Although the feeling  won’t last for very long as I’ve actually only got just over a week of freedom before I start a new job! If you read my post ‘Get your priorities in check’ then you’ll know that back at the beginning of March I made the decision to leave my part time job to focus on university. For anyone in the financial position to do this in their last term of uni (which I’m well aware everyone isn’t) it’s definitely worth considering. I found it gave me the time I needed to properly focus on my final 3 deadlines and also the time to search for jobs.

Now I know not everyone wants to get into a full-time job straight out of uni but I just couldn’t wait to get back into the world of Fashion Buying. For anyone that doesn’t know, my degree is/was (not sure if it still counts as present tense!) Fashion Buying/Marketing and as part of my degree I did a placement year which I absolutely loved! If I’m being honest my final year of uni has been a bit of a drag and I just couldn’t wait to get back into working towards my career goals.

So throughout March and early April I started looking for jobs. I had been offered a graduate role at the company I did my placement at, in the midlands, but after over a year of long distance me and my boyfriend Jake decided to try and find a city that both of us could find work in which = LONDON! It made sense for both of us and I just knew that London would be right for me.

But anyways long story short, I applied for a few jobs, went for a few interviews, turned down a couple and accepted one at one of the big high-street fashion retailer’s, as a Buyer’s Admin Assistant (BAA) on girls accessories, which I am so bloomin excited about. I start middle of May so will be moving down soon. I genuinely can’t wait to start working in the fashion world again and to also experience London life to the full (well on a tight budget because you know…London rent and all). If you’re London based I want all your recommendations for fab places to visit/eat/drinks on a budget!

Other than uni, the new job and moving to London (Well I say only but you know) I’ve been organising some really exciting things for the blog/Instagram in collaboration with various brands. I definitely think it’s a case of the more you put in the more you get out and I’m definitely looking to up my content even more over the summer, so keep an eye out! Plus as you may have noticed, I’m changing up my editing style using one of the tezza presets- it’s a much warmer and more vintage vibe than what I had previously, plus for the summer it makes me looked way more tanned than I actually am, so I’m totally loving that. I’ve also got quite a few gifted/sponsored posts coming up that I am really excited for, so would love any support on these!

But anyways, I think I’ve rambled on for long enough now! In a mega quick summary I’ve finished uni, landed a killer job, moving to London and have some fab opportunities lined up…so watch this space

Until next time,
