If you know me, then you’ll know I’m a summer person, through and through. There’s just something about the nicer weather that brings out the best version of myself. Plus lets not beat around the bush…the fashions better. But as I’m a bit skint at the moment, waiting to start my new job and all, I thought I’d compile a wish list of my top 10 favourite high street summer dresses (Because lets face it highstreet retailers are killing it at the moment and we all love a bargain). I’m aiming to add a bit of variety in there, so make sure to let me know in the comment which ones take your fancy and which ones you think I should invest in once I get to my first pay day!
First up is a long sleeve midi dress from Warehouse that I think would look absolutely amazing styled with a black Panama hat and Black Doc Martens. This is definitely the type of summer dress which can be used for multiple occasions- beach holiday to Santorini? Check, Brunch date in the city? Check, Summer wedding? Check. Although it’s slightly more expensive than I might usually go for, I think it’s an investment piece that won’t go out of fashion quickly and can be re-worn multiple times…a must have!

Second up, is this gorgeous green midi dress from Topshop. I was drawn to this by the absolutely beautiful and bold colour, as well as the really cute ruffle detail. I think this would look amazing paired with high top black converse and a straw circle shoulder bag. Similarly to the last dress, it can also be dressed up or dressed down so I think you could get quite a lot of wear out of it.

I absolutely adore this H&M number so just had to include it in this wish list! The pale blue looks so fresh and crisp for summer. I also think the fit looks like it would be really flattering and could be a fab throw on item and would also look great with a white t-shirt layered underneath…winner!

This mustard wrap from New Look is both affordable and stunning. It’s a beautiful colour and great for if you’re wanting to add a bit of colour to your wardrobe but aren’t too keen on really bright colours. I also think that this style could be really flattering for a range of body types! It’s a yes from me…

If you know me then you’ll know that I’ve been loving the colour red recently and this ASOS dress for me is the perfect summer dress. The linen material just screams summer to me and would be a great dress to throw on on holiday with espadrilles. Also if you haven’t already heard, ASOS’s buy now pay later with Klarna is bloomin fabulous, so if you’re holiday falls at a time before you get paid not to worry, as you can order everything you need and pay later!

Thinking about it, I don’t actually own anything polka dot! Which is crazy as it’s such a classic print which never seems to go out of fashion. So maybe this will be the season that it all changes! I’m loving this Nasty Gal mini dress number and again just think it would be really fun to style up or down. Nasty Gal always have mega discounts as well so can be really affordable for people tight of money, like me!

Now this is something a little bit different to all the other dresses I’ve mentioned so far, and although it kind of reminds me of a deck chair, I’m loving this Missguided green striped mini dress. As we all know the British weather can be temperental it might not always be warm enough to wear this dress, buuut I think it would also look great with a white or black t-shirt underneath and paired with a blue denim jacket! Also at £15 (plus all the discount codes Missguided always have) you can’t go wrong!

Heading to a festival or party holiday in Ibiza this season? Then you need a sequin dress in your life. I’ve actually chosen one which believe it or not is a little bit more subtle than some of the others I’ve seen, so if you’re not 100% sure on the trend this one might be for you! This dress isn’t actually one that I think I’ll be buying myself (as I don’t yet have any holidays or big festivals planned *cries to self*) but I saw it and just had to include it in this list!

I think I’d been living under a rock until recently as I hadn’t really heard of Monki until a couple of months ago, but it is completely up my street. I think I could genuinely buy everything off their site, including this oversized shirt dress. Perfect for both work, evenings out and casual day’s out it’s perfect for getting the most out of your money. Plus, I mean you can’t go wrong with a white shirt dress so it won’t be going out of fashion any time soon! I seriously need this in my life…

Finally, is a beautiful River Island statement yellow maxi dress that I’ve actually already bought…I just couldn’t resist! Its bright, it’s floral and it’s made from a lovely light crepe material, which all screams the perfect summer dress to me. I also think £36 for this type of dress is really good value for River Island, a must have for this season.
