Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending Bestival with JD x Vans. This was possibly one of the most exciting blog opportunities I’ve had yet, so I thought I’d write a post to share a little more from the weekend and give you the low down on exactly what it was like!
The House of Vans had a stage at the festival for the first time and had invited JD along, who also invited myself and a plus 1. We were put up in the backstage camping area, which was a lot more glamorous than I’m used to at festivals! Warm showers, flushing toilets, access to a backstage/VIP camping VIP bar which also had flushing toilets- I definitely wasn’t complaining! I mean no, we weren’t in the flashy yurts if that’s what you’re imagining, we were still in a tent, but I’d definitely take the spacious camping pitches any day.

As we were there on behalf of the House of Vans we also got backstage access to their stage area which meant another VIP bar and access to their private portaloo’s. One of the things I hate about festivals is the queuing for ages for portaloo’s that frankly want to make you vomit. So I think this was actually one of the best perks of the weekend for me!
The House of Vans team were absolute babes and also gave myself and Jake food tokens for their burger shack and also drinks tokens to use at their bar, so we were pretty sorted in that department!
The stage area itself is also definitely worth talking about. Open to all festival-goers there were comfy bean bags and chairs to chill out on, as well as the most instagrammable rainbow structure going! By the stage area there was also a Vans photobooth and an area which was used for free activities such as screen printing and hair braiding by Keash – which I took full advantage of on the second day!
Something I don’t really talk about much on this blog, which may potentially change in the future, is how much I love going to see bands play live. I’m more of an indie rock kind of girl, but whilst we were at Bestival we saw some great shows from London Grammar, Plan B and Rudimental. We also saw lots of great acts on the House of Vans stage like the Xcerts, Sunset Sons and a secret DJ set from Mike Skinner. There were quite a lot of techno/dance/house acts there, so if that’s your kind of thing then Bestival would be a great festival for you!
However, it’s definitely worth noting that even if you’re not 100% sold on the line up, there are so many different activities you can take part in to make for a fun- filled weekend. From early yoga sessions to comedy and circus acts in the evening, Bestival’s got you covered!
For the first day I decided to go for a sporty look, which was definitely channelling those 90’s vibes, bucket hat and all! I decided to wear an Ellesse swimsuit as a bodysuit, paired with Ellesse shorts. To accessorise I wore a trusty black bumbag and oval sunglasses. Then of course, I was wearing a pair of vans and for this outfit opted for the checkerboard platform pair.
Jake also opted for a checkerboard look on the first day! I mean, we had couples dressing down to a T on that day (even if when people would mention it Jake hated it).
For the second day I went for my go-to festival look, which is an oversized t-shirt and shorts. I like to keep it simple! Also, how cool were my hair braids? Obsessed!
I actually spilt drink down my shorts half way through the day (clumsy I know) so decided to change into a different outfit for the evening. I also put on the most amazing jewels from Festival Faces which were amazing, the middle jewel even lit up!
I think the below image is possibly my favourite from the weekend!
Then finally for the last day I decided to go all out! I mean, in comparison to a lot of festival go-ers there this outfit was pretty tame, but it was nice to add a bit of sparkle. I paired the sequin top with black mom shorts (the comfiest denim shorts I’ve ever owned) and the black checkerboard platform Vans.
Which was your favourite look from the weekend?!
Overall, I genuinely had such a great weekend! The weather was gorgeous, the music was great and the team at both JD and Vans were so lovely to work with. If you’re looking into festivals to go to next year, I would 100% recommend Bestival.
Until next time!
